  • Global Scholar – Tutoring for all ages
  • Spark Notes – Study guides, test prep, and more!
  • Edu 2.0 – Online teaching and learning management. Incredible resourse for teachers of any kind.
  • Flashcards Exchange – Create, share, or find flash cards for almost any subject. Use them online or print them.
  • Education World - Another superb resourse for teachers AND students. Also one of the oldest on the web
  • Wikipedia - Although sometimes bashed, an incredible resourse not to be overlooked
  • How Stuff Works - Recently acquired by Discovery Channel, but still has great information.
  • Global School – Linking kids from around the world to work on project collaboratively and learn from and about each other. Awesome.
  • Web 2.0 Backpack for Students – Wonderful collection of online tools for students…a must read.
  • Better Lesson – Create, organize & share your curriculum…social networking comes to education. Still in beta (testing), but keep an eye on this site.
  • Merriam Webster – Great online dictionary, thesaurus, and medical dictionary.
  • YouTube – Much more thanjust water skiing squirrels and idiots leaping from roofs. Search for what you want to learn from cooking to math, and you will find some wonderful video tutorials. And don’t forget my library of more than 200 computer how-to videos; CastTV
  • WikiHow – Think of it as the Wikipedia of how to…check it out
  • PBS Teachers – TV programs, web content, online continuing ed and much more
  • Academic Superstore – Discount technology (software and hardware) for teachers and students
  • The Educator’s Reference – High quality resources & services for the education community

    Another good link for kids is Yahooligans they have a learning and study area:

    It’s also a very child safe search engine that filters out a lot of skuz that I didn’t want my children to find.

      Thanks Matt…and thanks for reminding me of Yahooligans….especially for the younger kids. I used it a lot awhile back and actually forgot about that great resource!

This is a great free website (Starfall) for reading related activities including alphabet and books (they can click on a word they do not know and it will sound it out for them) that are interactive. It is for preschool age to about maybe a first or second grade reading level. I use it with kids I work with alot and many of them now use it at home.
