Big crowd at Samsung Press Conference

Submitted by Rick on January 6, 2008 - 9:04pm.
  • CES 2008

These guys started out with a great vin diagram of 3 c's; connectivity, content, and creativity. They followed this with an admirable slogan for this year: "Life made simple."

Unfortunately, this was followed by the CEO attempting to transfer video to a flat screen that was so easy anyone could do it, but he couldn't. This was followed by a "reboot" process of both the
TV and the video camera and then an engineer was able to complete the demonstration.

As much as we like Samsung monitors, we weren't especially impressed with a new 22" monitor that had a little 7" add-on screen that could be positioned on the left, right or top of the screen. Why? We aren't sure either.

Finally, a promise was made that you could use Samsung TV's and cameras to edit your photos on a large screen LCD or plasma monitor with your remote control. Why? We aren't sure either.

They did unveil their newest multi-function printer that is a breakthrough in design...we'll see if we can see it in action on the floor.
