On May 27 you talked talked about the # of processes that open at Start-up. Following your instructions I found I have 60 processes opening. I went in and unchecked several I didn’t need, however when I go back to normal start-up at closing,restarting my computer and then again to into msconfig/Start-up, the problems are again checked. How do I keep them unchecked?

ANSWER

Thanks Joanne. (She’s referring to my tip about MSCONFIG found here.) You are doing everything right except one small step. After you restart you computer make sure to check the box that starts with “Don’t show…”. If you return back to normal startup mode, then you will lose all your changes and return to running all those programs in the background again. Good luck!

   Rick: we have a Vista PC, using MSN email program.
   we discovered a few days ago that we could not delete
   read emails, that is, they would disappear, then in
   10-15 seconds would reappear. what is going on, and what can we do to get them to stay gone?
