Emailing in Ubuntu Linux – Video Tip

This is a three part video tip showing how to setup and use email in Ubuntu Linux using the included Evolution software. Evolution is a full fledged Personal Information Manager (PIM) that can perform calendaring, tasks, email, contact management and more. Think of it as Outlook for Linux, but easier.

great tutorial. CenturyTel does not accept Linux. a retired IT friend told me the switch used may not be compatible with Linux. the Centel tech. i talked to did not know anything about Linux or is trained to deny accepting Linux.

the Centel supplied modem is netopia cayman 3341 2Apr05. there may be a way to get the modem upgraded to to access Centel switch, but that is beyond me so far. forums are interesting but not specific enough for me to grasp how to make Linux work to connect to the Internet.

i got the Simply Mepis book with the bootable CD a couple of years ago but was stymied at my attempts to get on the internet as above problems and my own inability to understand what i was doing frustrated my efforts. gd
