I really love English Bulldogs.
Recently I became aware of a common pet scam that is based on every other over seas Internet scam.
Someone from Cameroon posts a desired breed up for a ridiculously low price.
He/she asks for money plus shipping. You never get the dog.
Here is my recent correspondence with one such scammer.
I have resorted the posts from oldest to newest so you can enjoy the events as they occurred.
For reference, here are the photos the scammer sent with the email. Keep in mind that these are the actual size photos that were sent!

it is no problem. I am so glad you wrote back. Those pictures are still very small. I used my photoshop custom enlargement filter and the dog has a brown patch over the left eye in some photos but not in others. Does the patch move? Did the patch appear as he got older? You didn’t use an bleach or other chemicals to remove the spot did you? The smell of bleach bothers my cats.
Are the pictures actual size? Have you had the puppy vaccinated against elm beetle?

At this point I decide to make some of the same mistakes in my post as they make in theirs. Note that they were hoping that the dog would go to a good Christian home and that they work for Christ orphanage, yet she was delayed in a previous post because she was gone for evening prayers. Isn’t that strange?

I just realized that Cameroon is in AFRICA! Did you know that? I thought it was in Detroit or something. That is too far for me to go to pickup the dog. I will wait until you get back to Denver. Let me know when you get here. Please keep your dog in doors I heard that some places in Africa catch stray dogs and put them in baby food. I would hate for you to have to utter the words – “A baby ate my dingo”
I am sure you will find another interested party in Cameroon with air conditioning.

Her name kept changing from Samantha to Jessica to Ann Samantha, Samantha Nyenty and then to Samantha Ruth during email contact.

In my case, I refused to pay for ANYTHING until I had the puppy in my possession when I found out the Chihuahua puppies were ‘located’ in Cameroon while the ad said they were in Stockholm (I am living in Sweden).
It took a while of emailing back and forth, but eventually this Samantha gave in doing so. After all this, I tried to find out if her contact information was accurate with the help of Google, but I found nothing except for warning for scams from Cameroon.
I eventually got an email from cameroonpetstransportair which told me the flight could not depart because of bad weather and so the pup was in need of an electrical cage to keep the pup warm and alive during the flight. The price had to be paid ASAP or else the puppy could not be send over by plane (as they put it nicely: it will die).
Since I had read all the warnings and stories of people who lost money with all these clever scams, I saw the ‘need of cage’ as a ‘lost document’ and ‘unexpected extra insurance’ scam, so I ignored it all and refused to pay for anything.
The emails I received from cameroonpetstransportair all looked very unprofessional and in my opinion very fake, no matter with logos and all. Everyone can save a logo and re-use it in an email.
I also tried to find anymore information with the use of Google, but again no hits aside from all the scam warnings.
Samantha send me an email a few minutes after I got the mail of the petstransportair, going all crazy and wanting her money because she was certain the puppy would be in my possession by now.
I told her the flight was delayed and that I refuse to pay for anything extra until I got the pup; it wasn’t part of our deal. She tried to make me feel sorry and guilty by blaming me for her puppy’s death and that she would never forgive me if the pup would die. I ignored every threat email she has send my way and the threats become sillier with every mail send. Right now, she threatens to have a witch doctor go voodoo on me.
I am just glad that I have not lost any money over this.
i also replaid to a ad about two yorkies and someone wornd me not to pay and now after i have seen all these warnings i am clade i haven’t made any payments thanks for all you people who help us see .I’m from south africa mpumalanga
We have an ad in our newspaper about 2 Yorkshires for 80 each for transfer of ownership AKC but it’s only 20.00 for that, my next email from her saying that she lives in Cameroon and she will fly the dogs to me after receiving money, no way hehehehe

Dont feel bad I also paid for a bird really thougt I was going to get one and 900 bucks later figured out I was Scammed it was always something else they needed money for then to top it off when I found another bird the lady told me about the shipping I told her what had happened and she stated oh my son lives over there he is with the police he can help you and he wanted 300 bucks to help. My partner and I recently started looking for a new puppy to keep out other dog company during the day. He wanted a German Shepherd and i wanted a Rottweiler. After many internet searches we found a site that had two puppies of each and thought we would email both of them and see if any were still available. First they got back to us about the shepherds and i thought my partner had won. Only problem was that the dogs that had been advertised on a local trading site were now located in another country. While corresponding about the puppies we got a reply about the Rottweilers which were surprisingly in the same place. A quick search for Cameroon found this site. Thank so very much for letting people know that this was happening. We now have a beautiful 8 week old baby girl. I won in the end!
These people are getting trickier! I recently responded to an add in my LOCAL NEWSPAPER about a chihuahua – no price – just inquire via email. Perfect English – perfect spelling. She sent me multiple pictures with dates on them of the day she sent the pics. Claimed she was a Christian Missionary and soon leaving for Cameroon to start an orphanage. She gave me her name and a photo of her and her husband. I searched the names and photo and found that these people are really out there and serving in Cameroon! It wasn’t until my fiance googled the email address that we found out that it was a scam. Luckily I did not send any money. These people are a disgrace to Christians and humans in general and deserve every punishment that God gives them in the end – BURN IN HELL you grubby scammers!

If you want a dog, go onto websites such as champdogs or the kennel club not google the breed and look for the cheapest deal. There are thousand of good dog owners who have websites for their dogs
Recently a girl on my facebook got scammed into getting a dog from abroad and all I thought was you mug!
The problem with people these day is that they expect things to be given to them now, instead of researching properly and contacting breeders in their country.
There are alot of people who are willing to wait years to get the puppy of their dream and dont care about paying hundreds even thousands just as long as their puppy is safe and in their arms.
All I have lef to say is if you want a puppy so bad do the research, contact the owner and if they have puppies go visit them and make sure the mother is there and there is papers to do with the puppies breeding…how simple is that?
All i can say…They have no moral! They do not think about other poeple feelengs…

i then googled cameroon and western union and it came about saying stuff about scams and people who do pet scames so i decided to ask her about it
is there another company or money transfer or can i transfer it into your bank account or send a money order we can use ive been warned about western union money transfer that thats what scammers use and ive had a friend that used western union and they paid for there item through that and didnt recieve there item because there was no item and couldnt get ahold of the person and couldnt get there money back or there item. im just dont want to be scammed.
and ive looked every where for these puppies and the last thing i want to do is pay for them and never get them………

This is actualy the 2nd time that I responded to an ad on Ebay from these type of scammers, the first stated they were Christian and going to Africa, where the weather is not good for Yorkies, to help the needy. Utter crap!
I want a Yorkie. Just contacted 4 different sellers, all who turned out to be SCAMS. boy, do I pick them.

basically its a name and shame. names of sellers, things to look out for. Help me share the info, so others don’t fall prey! I’ve uploaded my correspondence to help people get an idea.
My biggest tip hwr: when you realize that you are being scammed WHATEVER YOU DO resist the urge to tell the scammer what tipped you off! I know it is VERY hard, but rubbing their stupidity in their face, and telling them where they went wrong, tells them how to fix their game to better catch their next victim!
I was looking for a yorkie on oodle and got about 15 or more emails from people that were supposedly in Cameroon for one reason or another. Luckily, since I got so many with the same story, I figured it out before I sent out money.
