You can learn and start using this tip TODAY to make Christmas card or group mailings a breeze.

Too many computer users have no idea what a database is, how to use it, and how to merge it with another program to create labels. Since printing mailing labels is only a once per year activity for many of you, learning how to do it again every single year requires too much time and frustration.

In this week’s tip, I take all of the mystery and hysteria out of creating and printing mailing labels. You will thank me every November when you need to print out your mailing labels. The tip centers around creating a word processing document where you can store, edit and print your labels quickly and easily. Watch the video as many times as you need to and you will NEVER be frustrated with printing labels again!!

    What about printing index cards?

Can be accomplished exactly the same way Gary…if you are talking about the tearable kind from Avery. Individual cards are a little harder and also depend on the paper handling abilities of your individual printer.

Label time of year again! I do them in word. The original was easy…A couple of years ago. But now that I’ve made deletions, it seems I can’t simply put in another name & address in the deleted (blank) spot.
Whether I use tab, space, or ctrl tab, the cursor goes to the next label position. But not at the top line, to start with a name. Why is that? What’s the solution? What am I doing wrong? I considered simply creating another label template. But that seems a lot of work vs a simple update.
    Thanx anyone…:)

Your last computer seminar was most informative in re address labels. I had been laboriously loading addresses into an Xcel spreadsheet data base I had created myself; I was going to sort them alphabetically, then load them into a Word label document. However time was running out. OK, OK, I collapsed under the pressure & in a fit of anxiety over getting those Christmas cards addressed, I purchased & downloaded StatTrak address software. It’s a user-friendly handy little database that is quite sophisticated for the price – $29.99. I got everything loaded, labels printed & Rich got the labels on the cards w/an investment of a couple hours from start to finish.

If you hadn’t confirmed my opinion that programmers don’t send Christmas cards, I never would have explored label software. As I mentioned, I have Access but that is a hydroelectric dam when what was needed was a battery charger.

I thought I’d share this handy software & say Thanks for your classes. We’re just sorry we’ve missed so many of them.

I am mot impressed with your advice on making labels. I am using the Open Office method. Can you advise, I find the type is too near the edge of each label, when I do a test. Can I move the text to the centre of the label?
Look forward to hearing from you and I will certainly be visting you again

This tip truly is the easiest way to make labels for folks who have a hard time making labels. If you are having trouble with positioning, you can adjust margins and tabs to position it better for yourself.
