I use Puppy Linux to troubleshoot computers and backup data from dead hard drives. However, by default, the system automatically opens a file or folder when it is clicked just one time. For me, it seriously slows down my work. I finally learned how to set Puppy Linux to double-click instead of single click for opening folders and files.
This short video demonstrates how this tip works.

Cool tip. I was looking in the JWM config and couldn’t find it. I find the default singleclick really annoying.
Thanks very much for the advise on the single click deactivation; however it does not seem to disable the single click navigation for desktop items.
Would you know if this is correct, and if there is a way to switch this of too?
Thanks in advance,
Herman
Advise is good but the truth is—
herman is right, puppy is still on single click…
oh this single click and my child, destroying every icon on desktop
the desktop icons is called PINBOARD:
pinboard behaviour->single-click (uncheck it)
Thank you!
@IVO
If you are lazy to type more than two sentences , do not bother trying at all.
THERE IS NO PINBOARD in PUPPY linux!!!
# PINBOARD
bash: PINBOARD: command not found
Right click an icon on the desktop, ROX-filer, Options, Pinboard, Pinboard behaviour, untick ‘Single-click to open’.
A little difficult to find and annoying that Puppy acts like nobody would ever want to choose double-clicking as the default.
woops,finally……double-click solved.
Thanks for this information.
Thanks for this!
