Jump in and setup that new computer!

I have had a very packed schedule lately. As a result, I have been booking my appointments with clients about a week in advance. This is not very long to wait when you compare it to the two or three weeks some computer shops have you wait, but it is still a very long time.

Over the past couple of business days I have had two appointments for setting up new computers. By the time I got to the appointment though, my clients had become tired of waiting for the appointment to arrive and they had set up the systems themselves.

Both clients said something like, "I got to anxious so I set it up myself," they follow this up with, "It wasn't really that hard."

They say this as though I have been keeping a secret of how easy setting up a computer is. In reality, I am excited to see that they took on the project.

In the old days of computers, every device had to be plugged into a special port, software had to be loaded from scratch and nothing was color coded.

Today all that has changed. Almost all devices plug into the USB ports, everything is color coded and most software comes preloaded. This make the process of connecting the parts fairly easy.

However, once the parts are set up, you must go the next step and remove the trial versions and garbage software that comes as billboard advertising on the system. This includes removing the trial antivirus that comes on the system and replacing it with AVG or some other better complete antivirus.

Setting up the parts is easy, it's configuring the system for secure use that takes a little expertise. And for that I am happy to be of service.

Here is a link to a previous tip we did on how to setup a new computer.
