Sending email blindly (BCC)

Here is a tip to cut down on those hideous email headers.

If you are planning on sending an email to more than a few people, use the BCC or "blind carbon copy" function. Instead of addressing them all in the "to" section of your email, use the BCC instead. This allows you to still send the email to all the people on your list, but the recipients will not see any of the people to whom the mail was addressed!

In Netscape Communicator, simply click on the little "TO" button and the BCC will be a choice (If you have a version less than 4.5, you will have to have at least one person in the "to" category.).

In Outlook or Outlook Express, you will need to use the address book to select your recipients, but instead of clicking on the "to" button, use the "BCC" button.

If this helped, consider buying me a beer or an Americano! [1]
