If you want to see some LONG sentences, try reading a few U.S. Supreme Court decisions at http://www.findlaw.com/casecode/supreme.html. No need to apologize for your perfectly clear sentence. It didn't have any double negatives ("not inconsistent with" is a Supremes' favorite), dangling participles, tongue twisters (e.g. "red leather, yellow leather" ten times in a row), or anything. A customer with a telephone problem on a Sunday afternoon will gladly wait until Monday for a repair dispatch. On the other hand, a television problem demands an emergency call out.
