Leave your comments!! Please!

We love getting your feedback on our articles and tips. Unfortunately, too few of you participate. Our most commented articles are our Cameroon Pet Scams and desktop wallpaper articles. I did get a few comments on my annual plea for tax reform, but I’m always surprised at how few comments we get compared to the number of visitors to our site.

We do have the ReCaptcha system to thwart automated robot spammers on our site, but the words are generally easy to decipher (plus they help the Library of Congress digitize their library). If you have a tough time reading the cipher, you can hit the refresh button to get two new words (see picture). You can hit the refresh button as many times as you want. Also, keep in mind that the cipher’s are not case sensitive. I would recommend clicking the little speaker which gives you an auditory cipher to decode, but they generally are much harder than figuring out the two words.

There you have it…I’m on my knees groveling for comments. We love reading the comments and encourage you to leave them often…and invite all your tech friends and family to visit the site and do the same! Thanks.

  1. I’ve FINALLY succeeded in convincing mate to switch to Firefox! He already has an issue, and I can’t find the answer.
His home page has a double vertical scroll bar. (I use the same page, and my scroll bar is normal)
It almost appears as tho he has 2 pages open. I’m stumped. Is it possible to get rid of it? If so, HOW?

    Thanx

    • That’s a tough one…does it happen on all web sites or just the home page? Have you uninstalled and reinstallled?

      • Was just reading thru comments and came across my old question. It took a good while to figure out the answer…..Which should have been very evident. I felt REALLY dumb, after realizing the size of his monitor. Is that strong hint large enough??? :)

  2. I really don’t like Vista. Waiting for Windows 7. I hope it will be a better op. system.

  3. I think a key factor for this market in particular is that people will tend to stick with what they have. ,

  4. Rick and Adam,

I almost always start my day with you guys! I get your “FeedBlitz” email sent to my work email address, and usually click on the article link which takes me to your site. Even though I do IT for a living, and have a good knowledge of computers, I learn new things all the time from your daily articles and other comments on your site. Most recently, I’ve become a pandora addict! I think that service will finally make me break down and buy or redeploy a computer for my kitchen, so I can listen to pandora, convert our family calendar to an electronic one, show photos easily to family/friends, and bring up recipes right on the monitor instead of printing them out. Anyway, I digress.

Great site, keep it up, and thanks!!!

  5. I am in the throes of installing Hardy Heron Ubuntu and appreciate the info you give in your E-mails. I read them daily and gain a lot with each one. Please continue with the good work!

  6. I sometimes forget to check in on your site, but I did last night and saw the AVG comments, so I went ahead and changed from the old to the new version. It is so easy to do with your video instructions. Thank you. I needed to get a new computer last year and ended up with windows Vista. I didn’t want it, but had no choice. I don’t have a problem using it, but it sure has a lot of unneeded stuff in it.

    Thanks for being there.
