  1. Very good advice! And something that everyone should do.

BTW: I fail to understand why Facebook thinks it is permissible to use my picture in an ad about a third part product. That’s just scary. You picture might very well be used by a company that you would never support.

  2. Thanks a lot for these security tips on facebook. I also have account on it and now i am happy to see these tips of securing your personal networking sites.

It’s only so that when one of your quizzes appears on someone else’s page that your photo can be shown.
I fail to see why people cannot recognize a hoax when it is staring them in the face.

  4. I thank you for pointing this out. I wonder if it would be a good thing to post it to my facebook page. Others need to know this

When I tried to set up the Facebook security tip, I got as fas as News Feed and Wall and my computer froze up. Any suggestions? Clare

    • Rick says:

Try clearing all your temp files in the options of Internet Explorer and then try again…or use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome instead. Good luck.

  6. Walter says:

Facebook claims that they are not allowing third party vendors to use photos without your permission, but, one wrong click there and you have given them permission by clicking “allow access” or something else that is buried in their Terms of Service. This is a great tip.

hello i hope you can help me on a strange subject.
I used my boyfriends pc for the first time to log in on facebook and when i started typing my email it dropped down so i clicked on it and the dots appeared where my password would be.
Is there anyway it could have got there unless he had put it in, as i say i had never used it before.
    Thank you Rick

    • Rick says:

Nope…there is no way that could have happened without someone typing the data in first….unless you are using Firefox and XMarks sync tool or something like that to sync data between machines.
