Neither are true.

Google+ was Google’s attempt to compete with Facebook and have their own social media platform. Not many people used it, and chances are you have never heard of it. Google+ started in 2011 and has languished since then. This year, Google decided to shut it down. Anyone with a Google/Gmail account, had access to Google+, but using it was optional and totally up to the user.

With the closure of Google+, you will not lose access to any other Google products. Your email is fine. Your photos are fine. Your calendar and contacts are fine. If you use Google Drive, it is also fine. All your services and data will continue normally.

IF you used Google+ and your consider some of your content there important, follow the link in the email, or click here, to learn how to download any content you had shared on the service.

Once more, this email has absolutely nothing to do with your Gmail or other Google related services. They will continue as normal. If you have questions, please leave a comment below!
