Backup of your important data is always an essential part of using technology. Here is a quick tutorial on how to backup your Gmail address book!
To backup your address book in Gmail, follow these steps:
- Click Gmail above the Compose button in your Gmail screen (upper left side)
- Click Contacts
- Click More from the left side (if you don’t see “More” on the left side, skip to step 6)
- Click Export
- Click Go to Old Version
- Click More from the options just above your first contact
- Click Export
- Click Export button
- A copy of your address book will download as: google.csv
- Copy this file to a flash drive
CSV files also allow you to open them in any spreadsheet program where you can manipulate the data, print the data, etc.
