OK, I admit that shopping online is not that exciting or unheard of almost 10 years into the 21st century, but it still amazes me. And I am always surprised at how many people still tell me that they have not ever shopped online and do not intend to start.
My work attire consists of shirts with my HelpMeRick.com logo and Dockers pants. Fortunately, my pants size has remained the same for at least the last 12 or so years, and since I haven’t grown taller in that time either, I know exactly what to get…no need to enter a dressing room. For me, shopping for anything in a store might as well be a prison sentence…I despise it.
In need of new pants, I decided to head over to Dockers.com and was pleasantly surprised at how easy and quick it was to select my pants and get them ordered. Zero shipping costs, zero hassles, zero parking problems, no problems with hunting for the right size or color, and no fighting crowds at the store. Took me all of 10 minutes to shop and pay for my 3 pair of pants.
As long as you shop at reputable, recognizable online stores or carefully read and trust a smaller site’s privacy and shopping rules, shopping online should not create any problems for you.
Thank you Internet, my pants will arrive by courier (UPS), and I will have again avoided having to step into a store.
I have read a lot of blog entries in my time. Surely in the thousands. But this is the first one I’ve ever read about buying pants. Hat tip to you, my friend.
And remind me to kick you in the shins the next time I see you — “my pants size has remained the same for at least the last 12 or so years.” Must be nice.
Thanks Daniel…I’m easily amused and impressed! 😉
I always hate buying clothes online, but I do buy my Dockers online because they only carry just the right size online.
I have been buying electronics online for some time now, though.
Thanks Kyle! Besides a sweatshirt or t-shirt, this is the first time I bought real clothes online…I might start doing it exclusively. I detest clothes shopping period…and loathe walking in stores more and more.
I despise shopping too and buy almost everything online. Probably the only thing I buy at the store is food – and more and more of it is being purchased at the farmer’s market.
I’m happy to say that other than some stocking stuffers I have not stepped into a store or the dreaded mall for any of my holiday gifts 🙂
There are more of us out there than first meets the eye…but driving by strip malls and box stores tells a different story, crazy, eh?
Thanks for stopping by!!

We live way out and have been buying online for years. We have bought clothes, farm and sports equipment, cars (Cars Direct), even our last two houses were found and negotiated online. There is no problem with it IF you are sensible and know your retailer. Sue
Great advice Sue…if you are sensible and know the retailer and study their security and privacy policies, things usually go smoothly.
