Microsoft recently started a set of online wizards that can cure common problems like a lost recycle bin, problems with Outlook or Outlook Express and many Windows woes as well. If you have a specific problem with an error, it might be a worthwhile trip over to the site to see if there is a Fix It available for you.
I used it earlier this week to restore a lost Recycle Bin icon just to see how it works, and it did work as advertised.
Of course it would work. It also give Microsoft another chance to get into your computer and see what’s going on. I can’t help but feel that this is yet another security loophole that will be exploited within short order. After all that’s a very high level of access to even some of the more secure parts of an already insecure system. I would continue to recommend fixing your problems by “hand” or going to a qualified service person such as you Rick. What little I have that runs windows will stay far away from this feature based on the dangers of future viruses alone.
Do you really think they want to nose into our computers? They seem to be on the up-an-up and have a pretty extensive privacy disclaimer.
I lost my sound yesterday and have been unable to bring it back following various solutions from various websites.
Is it strictly in the computer, or can
it have something to do with a plug not
being attached?
HELP!!!
