I spent the better part of the weekend tweaking, hacking, and polishing up HelpMeRick.com to make it faster and easier to read. Also, the search is working better and better, and I will continue to add tons of new information and tips as I always do.     I can’t stand the new scheme. It looks terrible on my 320×240 amber screen. Didn’t you even try it in Mosaic before you made the change? Sheesh!

    On the other hand, it looks great in Safari 4 running on my 24″ iMac. So, that is a plus.

      Are you one of those Internet comment spammers?? If your 320X240 device had a real OS, it might look better. Ha, ha! Thanks for stopping by at the old HMR!

    I noticed the change yesterday. The font was larger than it is today.
    When I tried to listen to your email answers, it kept cutting out. I tried a few time, and assumed it was on my end. 🙁

        Thanx for the tip, Rick! I will definitely keep that in mind. Of course today, your video tip worked fine.

        As for the larger font, again I THANK YOU for your quick easy adjustment tip…..via the ctrl key, + the minus & plus keys! You’re indeed a gem! 🙂

        “Notify me of follow-up comments via email box (when checked) does not work, right?

      Hey, glad to hear that I’m not the only fan of polls. No, I will implement them again soon…just looking for the best possible option. And yes, I will be working on the link text soon as well. Thanks.

    The underscore on the URL links is a very pale gray, and, in places, very hard to see. Please consider improving that. Otherwise, the new format is very readable.

    Your site is the best of its type I’ve seen on the web.
    I like the new format. Very readable. I did kind of like your picture at the top better. It’s fine where it is now, but IMHO that leaves too big a blank space in the top sector. Maybe you could enlarge the logo or something to make it look a little more interesting. Looks like you’re getting a little geekier on WordPress. Keep up the great work!

      Thanks for feedback John…I know you liked the picture, but it’s just not me. I left at the bottom, and am still working on header and some other issues.

    Hi Rick – I hadn’t stopped by in about a week or so – it looks great! Is the footer widgetized? If so, I’m a little sad because all my tricks are becoming common knowledge 😉

    The search results page looks SO much better.

    I think I used to have the same problem with the subscribe to comments plugin – I needed to replace a with a or the other way around in the plugin file.

      Hi Kim. Yep, the footer is widgetized…took me a few hours to figure it out, but I got it from one of the online tutorials. And you were right about the search results and Google search, the other theme just didn’t take to it very well, this one was super easy to implement. And did you notice that the Apache Google 404 works pretty good too?
