Internet Explorer has been the single largest factor in computer security problems over the past 10 years. Consumer education and awareness follows closely behind. Combined, these two factors create a security nightmare.
This story outlines yet more evidence to problems stemming from Internet Explorer and its monetary effect on companies like Google. Remember that the AOL and MSN browsers use Internet Explorer as their backend and thus have the same problems.
Instead of Internet Explorer, use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, or Safari.

Regarding IE – I have always avoided using it – browse with Firefox only.
I just got a new laptop-Windows 7 with IE installed.
Can I uninstall IE without creating problems?
Hi Richard. Don’t worry about it.
IE is built into Windows, so you can’t uninstall it. Even if you could, there are websites that work poorly or not at all on anything but IE. The best thing you can do is just not use IE unless you have to.
It uses a trivial amount of disk space, and, if you don’t have it running, no active resources such as memory. It is also not a security problem if it isn’t running. So there is no real reason to uninstall it.
Ha, ha…I’m just working through my comments and see that you answered Richard just like I did…thanks!
Nope…IE is part of Windows and can’t be uninstalled…and there are still sites that only work in IE…so keep it handy.
