I really love English Bulldogs. Recently I became aware of a common pet scam that is based on every other over seas Internet scam. Someone from Cameroon posts a desired breed up for a ridiculously low price. He/she asks for money plus shipping. You never get the dog. Here is my recent correspondence with one such scammer. I have resorted the posts from oldest to newest so you can enjoy the events as they occurred. For reference, here are the photos the scammer sent with the email. Keep in mind that these are the actual size photos that were sent!

Thank you for your sympathy for what I am going through. We have listed their emails and IP addresses on other sites, contacted the local authorities and filed and Internet Crime Claim and are looking to further work with the FBI to see what we can do about them. After some talking to them, they claimed they would refund the money the next morning by Moneygram as they had had me do….but, of course, we are still awaiting the refund. Although my children are a little older, this was a very wanted pet, and we are all very hurt in regard to what they did…not only financially, but in our hearts.

This also just happened to me. I received an address and name of the couple in Lagos Nigeria. THen when I refused to send money until I received the dogs the next day I received another email form another man same story posing as a breeder who put the ad out for someone who purchased his puppies. This time he said the couple with the male and female puupies (babies) were in England, I reported them to the attorney general I hope more people are aware of this. I didn’t realize it was a scam until the second email today. How sad!!!

I placed an ad on craigslist last week for a Bassett Hound Puppy. I got a response from someone claiming to be an elderly worman with a puppy. This just is some of the conversations that we had. This is pretty much at the end. However, today when she sent me the western union address info I of course looked the address up and what do you know there was a whole freakin page of puppy scams from the same country. At that point I thought it was funny so I played along. I told the lady I would send the money during my lunch hour. I dont know if she got suspicious because I have not received another email. I was hoping I would get one more so I could CUSS HER THE F&^%$ OUT!

I am so happy I found this website! I was almost scammed by a “woman” from Cameroon. I got suspicious when they wouldn’t answer a few simple questions and decided to do some research on the internet. omg I just had the same the happen to me. I didn’t go through with it. And I noticed that they kept saying, “Okay” like in every sentence. I told the shipping agency that I didn’t want the dog anymore and they started to yell at me, told me how could I do this to someone? Well I don’t care, I didn’t go through with it.

All papers will accompany the puppies when shipped to you, Due to our long staying over here in africa, and the bad weather I have concluded to get good home and care for our babies. We are not charging or selling them to you for money but to have thier lifes saved and care for them so this means that, you and i will be paying for the shipment of the puppies to you. they are VET checked, we have the puppies right here with us. Next, your knowledge of flight times if vast – to know exactly how long it will take to get from Cameroon to So. California on our first email so quickly – I’m impressed, you must be in the importing and deporting business.
