I have been using Picasa to manage my photos for over 6 years and still haven’t found another photo management system that works so well with minimum effort. It just takes a little front end work to learn the basics of what Picasa can do for you and master a few of its basic features. After that, you can learn about and add new skills as you go.
In today’s Grand Valley Computer Users Group meeting, I gave an overview of Picasa and am including ALL of my past tips and tutorials for Picasa here…and in an order that I think is the best to read/watch them in:
- Importing Photos using Picasa 3.5 or greater – Video Tip
- Picasa Basics Part I – Video Tip
- Picasa Basics Part II – Video Tip
- Control Photo Size in Email attachments with Picasa – Video Tip
- Using Picasa to make a CD of your photos – Video Tip
- How to use Picasa to backup ALL of your photos – Video Tip
- Quick and easy photo slide show using Picasa – Video Tip
- Add Photos TO an iPad or iPhone using Picasa
- Using Picasa’s experimental features – Video Tip
Is there any way to delete the year listing from the photo file folders on the left. I frequently look for photos, but I don’t know what year they will appear in. I would rather just have an alphabetical list of my folders as I can find them pretty fast then. Thanks much
Hello. Thanks for the comment and visiting HMR. Yes, you can use the left side of Picasa to display the folders in what works best for you…use these two buttons at the top of the screen and the drop down options next to them to change views and sorting methods. Good luck.
Thanks, Rick. I so appreciate your help. I love the website and all the great teachings and tips of it. Rita
